Rejected By My Pack

Dawn's P.O.V "Dawn keep going!" My brother yells from behind me. I continue to pound my paws on the ground, my breath becoming ragged and heavy. My brother, Ethan, is not far behind me, but insisted on trailing me instead of going ahead. There are hunters here. Not far behind both Ethan and I. I continue to run, but clumsily slip on a rock and fall back. My wolf howls in pain as my brother stops. The hunters were quickly gaining. "Dawn are you okay?" He asks, a genuine worry in his voice. "I'm-" I begin to get up but shots echo through the air. Ethan's wolf's eyes widen before he falls to the ground beside me. I scamper away and hide in a bush. I continue to stay there until the hunters leave. It then processes as I leave the bush that my brother is dead. Murdered. I begin to weep. "Ethan, Ethan no." I shift back into my human form, disregarding my lack of clothes, and weep even harder. If only it had been us. It should have been us. I tell my wolf, Alba. Ethan had a life. He had friends, a mate, and love from all around. I'm the lowest of low in the pack and considered nothing more than dirt. It definitely should've been me. After an hour of weeping, I hear noises behind me. Frightened, I shift back into my wolf only to see the last person I'd want to right now. My pack leader. "What happened." He bellows, directed towards me. I whimper. "He got shot." I say through my wolf's cries. "Get back to the pack house now." He growls lowly at me, surveying my brothers body.
