Rose to Shame

Rose walks over to her church two blocks down from where she had lived to assist with feeding the needy for Thanksgiving Day feast. There is ham, chicken, turkey and different color rice for serving. Seventy five people were in attendance. A pastor gave a blessing over the food to show appreciation acknowledging what could not have been if it wasn't for the lord. As Rose Winters take her seat at the table, she notices a longtime friend dating back to early childhood. Wayne is that you?, Rose said. Yes but I go by Wanda now miss thang. Wayne decided to transition into a female after being molested by foster parents growing up. Strong attraction grew for men throughout the unwanting touch phase. Wanda's sitting amongst Rose and going over tribulations of upbringing led to inviting lady to come live with her. 'I do not have employment nor any monies coming in at the moment', said Wanda. Rose stated that it was cool as long as she made an effort to find work as well as perform household chores if needed. Once the holiday dinner came to a close at 7:45 pm, Rose drives Wanda home for settling. This transgender woman did not have a face cloth, tooth brush or a pot to piss in. With that said, she was welcomed with open arms. Wanda was supplied with under garments and an emergency hygiene kit which Rose usually keep for visitors planning to sleep over. Winters gave her pal a sheet and pillow which is placed on the blow-up mattress provided. Anything on your mind sweetie?, spoke Rose. 'Yes, I love who I am today and I've never been happier in my entire life', said Wanda. Wanda softly speaks: My father was a single parent at a time when he was addicted to methamphetamine drug. Not paying attention to the surrounding of his child, I was touch by uncles and close family friends. Since dad didn't show me affection, I looked forward to that of those who fondled my body parts. That doesn't mean I enjoyed myself, it was wrong for any adult to take advantage. Being held against my will made me say I want that quality in a prospective boyfriend. Moreso, feeling womanly grew as the obvious flare. Getting angry with my pops for not protecting my wellbeing never came as a thought. I just started making skirts and dresses out of satin bed sheets. Even wrapped up my hair in rags like the neo soul crooner Erykah Badu. My next door neighbor once told me to look like a woman since I already absorb the natural feeling of one. Rose smiled and said 'I am happy long as you are sister girl'. Feeling a little woozy, Rose heads to bedroom while Wanda sleeps in livingroom. So tired from volunteering at the church, Winters leave her large beige stripe pocketbook on the couch which she sat on in the lounge area. Once Rose starts snoring loud, Wanda makes her move by sorting through the bag which doesn't belong to her. She finds a social security card and places it in her ruby red backpack. Wanda figured since her credit history was horrible she'd use Rose credit, after all she is an optometrist. The next morning when Rose awakes, she realizes Wanda has left without saying a word. Rose Winters' gets herself together for work at Kingsbridge Eye Clinic. She leaves her house without checking to see if all her documents still are in her pocketbook. This day, the job requested a copy of Rose's state identification and social security card for promotion purposes within an affiliate employer chain. She goes to look for them and notices the ss card cannot be found. Thinking back, she immediately believes Wanda had a hand in taking her stuff. Winters' was right, no questions asked. Meanwhile, Wanda done lied to her ex boyfriend saying, 'she moved into a brand new bachelorette pad with a friend and would like a few hundred dollars to spice up the place'. He gives it to her without hesitation knowing her past state of homelessness. Wanda takes that money and set forth towards getting a car from a rental company. The car dealership employee is new and unalarmed that Wanda holds a fake identification but the social security number is oh so real. She rides away with a 2021 Honda Civic lease. She only have to pay $199 every thirty days. Without even telling Rose about the car leasing, she continues to drive around and never return to her sleeping quarters. It was 72 hours before Winters' heard anything from Wanda. She says 'You don't got to worry about me I'm rolling high'. Rose mentioned her social security card was missing and Wanda denied her wrongdoing as expected. So Rose chose to wait a few weeks until she finally filed a theft report on her missing documentation. Discovering there is an obligation to pay remaining monthly balance on a vehicle she had no knowledge of put her in a state of distress. From that point on, Rose Winters had trust issues with other friends. She remembers the guilt trip of sleeping with Wanda's marriage partner six years ago. Looks like someone been hit in retaliation mode.
