"I, Alpha Richard Brown, reject you, Jane Biller, as my mate and Luna."

"I'm sorry, but I can't accept your rejection because I have no wolf."

***********

Jane Biller was a late bloomer who was rejected by her first partner, Richard Brown, a famed Alpha King. Years later, she makes a triumphant return as a strong, powerful girl. It's hardly surprising that Richard wants her back. But, on the other hand, Jane doesn't want anything to do with him, particularly now that she gets a second chance mate.

What happens when Richard vows to get her back despite the odds? Would she stay with her second-chance mate or go back to a man who rejected her from the start?

Chapter 1
CHAPTER 32 – RICHARD (PARALLEL UNIVERSE) "Who's next?!" Ray yells, as the scruffy, haggard lady scrams out of the office. "Let's just tell them all to go f**k themselves!" I snap at Ray, slamming my hands on the table. Just then, the door opens and another female walks in. She's a little better dressed than the last female, but she's still not Jane, and I'm getting f*****g impatient! "Relax, man. We'll get you a fine-ass secretary. I promise." Ray whispers to me, rubbing my arm. His hair is tousled from the stress and I feel a bit of sympathy for him. "With the sorry excuses of females walking in through that door, I highly doubt that," I reply with a hiss, standing abruptly that my seat topples behind me. The loud crashing sound makes her flinch, and she lowers her head. I can see her finger quivering in fright around her résumé. She's dead scared from just a crashing sound. What happens if she accidentally gets hired and has to listen to me yell and cuss her ass out every day? She's certainly not getting this job. I walk to the small center table in the large office, and grab a glass, pouring myself a drink. It's one hell of an expensive wine. Nothing like it from the other world. I sip it calmly, shooting daggers at the female and Ray. He's interviewing her and even her voice is wavering and unsteady. Why the hell does he even bother with her? Just send her out already! This is hopeless. Admitting it hurts, but this whole interview saga is f*****g hopeless. There are 300 applicants and we're on number 200, but still no sign of Jane. She's not on the list. She didn't apply. It makes me sick and makes my blood boil. How much longer do I have to wait till I get to see her? It's been two f*****g weeks already. According to Flair, a day here equals four days there. So in the other world, it's already been two months. Can't believe it. It's a good thing the three months limitation I have counts with the time here. Or I would have been doomed already. I need to go back and speak to Flair. This whole thing isn't working. I'm yet to find Jane and right now, I doubt if I will. Flair has to do something or I might be forced to throttle her to death for fooling me. I finish the drink and place the glass on the table. Ray is still with the female. She keeps delaying her responses and I'm not sure if that's on purpose or not. I'm itchy to go grab her and hurl her through the window, but I don't want Ray nagging me again. After our arguments at the nightclub that night, I decided to be a little more level-headed. The backlash I'm getting on the internet over my aggressiveness at the nightclub is another reason why I'm trying to keep my aggressiveness in check. I've been badly trolled and despite Ray's effort to die the scandal, it's not working. Richard Riggo remains the most searched name on the internet. The most cussed at. The most trampled on. And I swear I've never been so humiliated in my life. That's why I'm trying to be more civil now. So I don't give anyone reasons to talk more trash about me. In the other world, no one would have dared to say such mean words about me. But this is a more advanced world. Everyone has guts behind their keyboards and they can say whatever s**t they feel like. And that's why I'm in such a mess. Father has been calling and sending messages over the scandal, but I haven't replied. He's more concerned that he might be affected by it. Not because he cares. His greedy, self-conceited ass has no limits. "Next!" I snap out of my thoughts as Ray yells again. The female is leaving and in a few seconds, someone else will be here. Someone who isn't Jane. Just as I thought, the door creaks open and it's another wacky, human female. I've had enough. She barely takes two steps inside when I grab her arm and drag her outside the door, slamming it on her face. "Get lost!" "Dude!" Ray gasps, standing forcefully. "What did you do that for?!" "I can't stand any more incompetent humans walking through this door. I'm sorry, but this is where this shitty interview ends." I say, slumping on the single couch in the office. It's a larger office that I requested, after getting tired of the office the other me used. "You don't get to call all the applicants incompetent without even glancing at their résumés. That's complete bullshit!" "I don't need to look at their résumés. They're all humans. I can tell what they are just by looking at them." "What the hell is wrong with you?!" He asks angrily. "Do you want a secretary or not?" "I do want one, but not these clowns –" "You don't have the luxury to be picky, man." Ray seethes, running a quick hand through his hair. "After the scandal you caused at the nightclub, you should be thrilled that these ladies even considered applying." He has a point. But how do I tell him that I'm not the Richard he used to know and that I'm not looking for a secretary? I'm looking for Jane. I invaded this world for a second chance to be with her. And if I don't find her, then nothing else matters. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted out." I say calmly, locking up my rage. Apologizing to Ray isn't something I'm used to. It's the first time. But there's no use venting on him. He can't understand…so what's the point? "It's fine." He sighs, grabbing his phone and car keys. "I know you're stressed from the recent online craziness, so why don't I drive you home so you can get some rest?" "Sure. Let's go." We leave the company and he gets into the driver's seat, while I get into the passenger's seat. Lucky for us, those humans ain't lingering on the premises, asking for some answers to their crazy questions. The drive is silent, and I take the quietness to reflect on my life. What happens if I never get to meet Jane in this world? Will I return to the other world and force her to accept me back as her mate? Knowing her too well, she'll never willingly accept me back. Not when she loves that swindler mate of hers too damn much. What do I do now? Where do I go from here? How did I find her in this parallel universe? How?! "s**t!" Ray cusses out loud, hitting the brakes so hard that we come to an abrupt halt. "What the f**k happened?!" I ask, jolting out of my thoughts. I look through the windshield and see a female scurrying from our view. It seems our car almost hit her. "Let me go see if she's alright." Ray takes off his seat belt and alights the car. I watch him approach the two girls that are whispering to each other. The one who almost got hit seems fazed by the incident. I take my eyes away but fix it back on her almost immediately. My heartbeat kick-starts at a murderous pace as I stare hard at her. Are my eyes deceiving me or is it really Jane? I can't believe it. But I'm not about to sit around and not confirm. My shaky fingers force the door open as I slowly approach them. Her back is turned to me and she's staring at Ray. Like In recognition. "Jane?" I feel my voice quavering as I say her name. I make a quick prayer to the moon goddess to please let it be her. Let her be Jane. The Jane I came here to find and live happily ever after with. Let her be Jane, please.
